Haircuts.

I don’t really like haircuts. I like hair. I like my hair. I like hair on girls. Hair. OK.

Haircuts kinda irk me. For some reason, I’m usually not that comfortable with the people who cut my hair. I mean, I’ve never encountered one where I could easily talk to them about anything, much less my hair. Anyway, I need a haircut. Bah.

Hair.

It seems like I keep ignoring this semester and I keep thinking about going back to Texas. I’m gonna need a new laptop, possibly a tablet pc, cuz those seem real swell. In any case, I need a secondary PC in the States so I can remotely do stuff on the one sitting on the desk of the room where I sleep.

That’ll probably ring me up $2k :\ So I gotta start saving. Still haven’t heard from any schools, it’s kinda worrying, to be honest, though I guess I did submit my original apps in ‘05 in 2004 and only heard from them after say 4 months.

I just want to get accepted somewhere so I know I’m going somewhere. I suppose I’m kinda hanging out there, and I have no idea where/if I’m gonna land.

2+1

So I recently watched three movies, Stranger Than Fiction, The Pursuit of Happyness, and 10 Items or Less and one thing I noticed was that they all had some sort of math reference in them. Stranger Than Fiction’s about an IRS auditor, so he does everything from those IRS forms to count the number of times he brushes his teeth. Pursuit’s main character goes from being a salesman to a broker of some sort (the words “retirement” and “tax-free” were mentioned at some point). Finally, Morgan Freeman’s character (which is credited as “Him” so you figure it out) does some crazy observations including one near the end about how fast some office worker looks over a folder (it was like a twentieth of a second or something). Not as big as the last two, but still, what the hell? is math the new Hollywood fad?

Next up, phones. Phone conversations are an interesting medium. On the one hand, you can hear the other person’s voice and their inflection, tones, and if they’re really laughing or not. On the other hand, you can’t actually emote. In the physical world, you can shake someones hand, hell, you can “emote” it online too, but on the phone? No way. It’s like playing Dungeons & Dragons “I shake [other guy]’s hand and smile, ‘Hello good sir!’ I say greeting the stranger.” See, that’s not going to work on the phone.

If I got my own mode of transportation in the States (and had a piece of plastic saying I was legally allowed to use it), I would have to get something large. Let’s face it, I have no home in the States, I’d have to stuff everything into the vehicle and haul ass to my next location. And you can’t fit that much stuff into a compact car… obviously. I don’t know why I always wanted a Jeep, but I guess an SUV or van would work just as well (or even better), too bad I’ll probably go broke from filling up the tank.

I think I’ve been subconsciously counting down the days until I go back to the States. I haven’t decided if I want to stay for the wedding or not.

Current hopes for the summer:

  • Going to Vancouver for a week or two
  • Getting my drivers license
  • Going to Arlington and Houston. (Not sure how long I’d want to stay in either or in what order, but I suspect it would end with Arlington since I can get rides (or I should be able to get a ride…) to either perspective schools from there. Of course that doesn’t mean I would only go to each location once, though there’s only that much time to do it all. … And where to I want to get my license from?)

I’m probably updating because I don’t want to study D:

Composition II - B (maybe a low A)
Economics II (Micro Economics) - C
Computer Applications - A
Drawing I - B

This came to me as I realized that there was an economics test tomorrow which I wasn’t ready for and that I didn’t really understand anything said this semester. Composition I’m slacking a bit, and the fact that we have a more limited range of topics to choose from will make it harder to get an A again. Computer Applications, I better get an A, I have no excuse there. :P Drawing will be interesting, but I think I can pull away with a B.

Nickelback - Far Away

This time, This place
Misused, Mistakes
Too long, Too late
Who was I to make you wait
Just one chance
Just one breath
Just in case there’s just one left
‘Cause you know,
you know, you know

[CHORUS]
That I love you
I have loved you all along
And I miss you
Been far away for far too long
I keep dreaming you’ll be with me
and you’ll never go
Stop breathing if
I don’t see you anymore

On my knees, I’ll ask
Last chance for one last dance
‘Cause with you, I’d withstand
All of hell to hold your hand
I’d give it all
I’d give for us
Give anything but I won’t give up
‘Cause you know,
you know, you know

[CHORUS]

I’ve submitted a “reactivation” application to Baylor.

I need to find a credit card for UTD’s application.
